Who Shot Thebarman romped home to record a dominant win in the race 12 months ago and he has the chance to join Zipping himself as the most recent multiple winner of the race.

The veteran stayer hit the line strongly to finish fifth in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) and he has the benefit of leading jockey Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

Another horse that won on Zipping Classic Day last year was Almoonqith – who took out the Sandown Cup – and he has also been included in the 2016 Zipping Classic Day field.

Almoonqith finished a gallant sixth in the Melbourne Cup last week and he has one win from as many starts at Sandown.

Big Orange, Secret Number and Beautiful Romance are also set to back-up in the Zipping Classic after running in the Melbourne Cup last Tuesday.

Big Orange and Secret Number were both a touch disappointing late in the Melbourne Cup after being settled on the speed early, while Beautiful Romance found the line strongly in what was an eye-catching performance.

The most interesting horses in the 2016 Zipping Classic field is So Si Bon, who will be the sole three-year-old in the field.

So Si Bon has raced well without winning in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas (1600m), Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) and Group 1 Victoria Derby (2500m), but faces a tough assignment against the older horses in the Zipping Classic.

The 2016 Zipping Classic field is rounded out by Tristram’s Sun and Transfer Allowance.

The Zipping Classic betting market is now available at Ladbrokes.com.au and you can find a wide range of betting markets for every single race that will be held at Sandown on Saturday.
