Having returned to racing in exceptional condition this time in, classy stayer Prince Of Penzance has opened as and maintained status as outright favourite for success in 2014 Zipping Classic betting markets and is currently available at a quote of $3.50 for success, ahead of Spillway ($4), Green Moon ($4.80) and Au Revoir ($5.50) with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Will Prince Of Penzance continue his strong run through the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival and win the Zipping Classic, or will one of his classy rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Green Moon ($4.80)

The winner of the 2012 edition of the Melbourne Cup, Green Moon is surprisingly yet to break through an event victory since, but is arguably offered his best chance to date in the 2014 Zipping Classic. Claiming an impressive total of seven race wins and a further four minor places over his 32 competitive appearances so far, the Montjeu entire finished a close second to Fiorente in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) most notably over autumn this year, and while yet to figure in contention in three Group 1 starts this time in, has reportedly progressed well from a hard-fought ninth in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) last time out.

2nd

Prince Of Penzance ($3.50)

Securing six wins and as many minor places from his 17 competitive appearances on course so far, Prince Of Penzance has found arguably career-best form leading into the 2014 Zipping Classic and is a great chance of figuring in contention once more from the ideal barrier 4. Running eighth in his racing return in a minor over 1400m on August 30th, the Pentire gelding placed seventh amongst classy competition in the Spring Is The Season Handicap (1700m) on September 13th and has continued to impress via second in the Moe Cup (2050m), victory in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Cup (2500m) and second in the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2600m) last weekend.

3rd

Sea Moon ($13)

Cutting in from opening odds of $15 to currently feature at a quote of $13 for success, not a lot has gone right for Sea Moon during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, however history dictates the six-year-old is more than capable of a sharp turn in form and beating the country’s best on his day. Claiming six wins and four places from just eighteen starts to date, the Beat Hollow entire was scratched from the Melbourne Cup with a niggling injury on November 4th but has reportedly taken well to work in the lead-up to his final appearance on course this year in the 2014 Zipping Classic.
